Miami University Art Museum Senior Spotlight

Congratulations to all of the Seniors graduating this weekend from Miami! We want to give an extra special shout-out to our graduating Seniors – students who interned, volunteered or worked at the museum in the last year.

Andrew Bessler

Andrew majored in Emerging Technology & Business Design. During his time at MUAM he worked on 3D scanning and printing with our Preparator & Building Manager David Dotson. Andrew is headed to George Washington University to take part in their Museum Studies Program. Congrats, thanks and best wishes to you!

Andrew Hahn

Andrew studied Art History and recently was a part of the Art & Architecture History Capstone contributing to the curation of Reflections: Visual Constructions of Race now on view through June 11. While interning at MUAM Andrew focused on Collections projects with our Registrar & Collections Manager Laura Stewart. Andrew wants to work in the museum field and has an interest in conservation. Catherine Lammersen

Catherine also recently completed the Art & Architecture History Capstone before continuing her MUAM experience as a Curatorial Intern with Jason Shaiman our Curator of Exhibitions. She studied Art History & Political Science. Her internship focus was working on the Fall 2022 exhibition – A Lens for Freedom, a photography exhibition featuring the work of Steve Schapiro. She is attending New York University to continue her Art History studies and wants to work in the field. Thank you, Catherine and best of luck to you!

Lucy Osborne

An Art Education major, Lucy volunteered at the Art Museum assisting Collections Manager Laura Stewart with our Art Explorers program in partnership with Lane Public Library. She is headed to graduate school to further her studies in painting. She plans to work in the Arts. Thank you for your contributions Lucy and good luck!

Mitch Meikle

Mitch studied Art Education and Museums and Society. He worked with Collections Manager/Registrar Laura Stewart on collections projects as well as assisting with Art Explorers. Mitch is headed to work at a library. Best wishes in your next chapter and many thanks Mitch!

Katrina Shafor

Katrina studied Art Education and Community Arts at Miami. Her work with David Dotson at MUAM was as a Preparator Assitant where she helped with exhibition preparatory work. She is headed to Graduate school at University of Cincinnati where she is studying Painting. She plans to work in the Museum/Museum Education field. Thanks, Katrina and best wishes to you!
