Student Intro: Logan Bowers

Hello! My name is Logan Bowers and I’m a sophomore here at Miami. This year I will be working as an Arts Management intern at the Miami University Art Museum (MUAM). On campus I am involved in Alpha Phi Omega, Choraliers, and Delight.

I am majoring in Educational Studies with a co-major in Arts Management and a minor in Museums and Society. I am very excited to be interning at MUAM this semester! I have always been very interested in museums and how they can connect us to the past and inspire us in the present.

As a student taking the Museums and Society minor, last semester pre-Covid, I was fortunate enough to take classes at the art museum. Before class began, I remember my peers and I were able to wander through the museum and admire the current exhibitions.

The Museums and Society minor is open to all majors and only needs 18 credit hours to be completed. This minor provides students with a “hands-on experience of current methods and approaches in the museum field through competent and creative research on objects, collections and collecting institutions.”

I have really enjoyed my classes for this minor and would recommend this minor to anyone who is interested in learning about the museum field or interested in career paths such as, “a professional career in education, libraries, anthropology, art and architecture history, history and associated fields.”

If you are interested in this minor feel free to learn more about it on the Museums and Society minor page here!
