New interventions, along with an addition of stronger epidemiologic surveillance needs to be considered in order to determine what methods are best for reducing the prevalence rates of these conditions. This article discusses the impact of diarrheal diseases, particularly cholera, and a new intervention strategy to investigate whether heavier sanitation and hygienic practices are successful.
