As a result, opto-mechanical switches become necessary as they allow for the coupling of fibers through the connection of an input to various outputs, or vice-versa.\u00a0 Before the commencement of this project, the optical spectroscopy lab at Miami was without such a device, hindering future research studies.\u00a0 This project details the steps undertaken to create an optical switching device
