After Moldovan plundering in 1509, the church was reconstructed and consecrated in 1630. The column in the right foreground features a now lost sculpture of St. John of Dukla, the patron saint of Poland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Towards the close of World War I (WWI), Lw\u00f3w came under Ukrainian rule and became the capital of the West Ukrainian People\u2019s Republic. Polish youths led an uprising and reinstated Polish control.
