The French Riviera is famous for its beaches and is considered a tourist\u2019s paradise. The Nazi invasion in July 1940 ended peaceful existence in the French Riviera. In August 1944, shortly after D-Day and the Normandy Invasion, allied forces helped take back the port city of Marseille. Herv\u00e9 Baille\u2019s post-war poster exemplifies the attempt of the Marshall Plan to attract American tourists to damaged allied cities in France.
