Larry\nWinston Collins was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Before pursuing a career as\na fine artist, Collins worked as a graphics designer. Collins received his BFA\ndegree from Columbus College of Art and Design, in Columbus, Ohio, USA and his\nMFA degree from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland.\nCollins also received a fellowship to attend the Skowhegan School of Painting\nand Sculpture in Maine, USA. The \u201cArtist\nto Africa Fellowship\u201d presented by \u201cACE\u201d (Arts\nfor Community Expression),<\/em> facilitated Collins travels to Dakar, Senegal in\nWest Africa. Collins has received many other awards including grants from the\nOhio and Greater Columbus Arts Councils, one being the 1999 and 2007 Residency\nFellowship to Dresden, Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Collins\nconsiders himself to be a Mixed Media artist, working in a variety of materials\nand techniques. His past works include Drawings, Mixed Media Paintings and\nSculptures, Collage, and Printmaking. Collins sometimes combines various\ndisciplines to create a technique he refers to as \u201cArt Fusion\u201d.\n\nCollins exhibits nationally and internationally.\nCollins, also an educator, taught at Columbus College of Art and Design for\nseveral years and is now an Associate Professor at the Miami\nUniversity in Oxford, Ohio, USA. Collins now lives in Oxford, Ohio.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
