Telling A People\u2019s Story<\/em> is dedicated to the memory of those who blazed\u00a0new trails and opened the doors for the development of African-American\u00a0children\u2019s literature.\u00a0Special appreciation is extended to the Exhibition Committee and students who\u00a0collectively shaped and defined the exhibition, programming and conference.\u00a0Particular recognition is extended to Brenda Dales, Co-Project Leader, who\u00a0brought vast knowledge, resources and passion to this project. Admiration\u00a0and appreciation is offered to Rudine Sims Bishop for her original scholarship,\u00a0which paved the way for the critical assessment of African-American children\u2019s\u00a0illustrated literature. Great appreciation is extended to the staff of the Art\u00a0Museum for their many contributions and steadfast dedication to this project.<\/p>\n
