Description<\/b><\/h2>\n

This first-of-its-kind conference is held in conjunction with the original exhibition, <\/span>Telling A People\u2019s Story<\/span><\/i>, on display at the Richard and Carole Cocks Art Museum. Featuring illustrators, scholars, librarians, and educators, eleven speakers will individually and collectively present and discuss diverse aspects of contextualizing African-American children\u2019s picture books. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Richard and Carole Cocks Art Museum<\/span><\/a>, completed in 1978 was designed by Walter Netsch of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, Chicago, and is situated on three acres of scenic sculpture park grounds at the edge of Miami University’s\u00a0Oxford, Ohio campus. We house five galleries of changing exhibitions and a growing permanent collection of over 17,000 artworks. MUAM is accredited by the\u00a0American Alliance of Museums<\/a>\u00a0(AAM).<\/em><\/p>\n
