Social media is a great way to advertise your event! We do want to caution you, however, that if you are going to post the meeting link publicly, you make sure to take a second to take a look at the security settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You probably know why we make this caution: &#8220;Zoom Bombings&#8221; have become a problem both locally and nationally. Troublemakers have shown their stripes, and we need to be vigilant about keeping disruptions out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is strongly recommended that you enable the following settings to reduce the risk of a malicious meeting interruption:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360033559832-Meeting-and-webinar-passwords\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Meeting password\/passcode<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360041848151-In-meeting-security-options\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Waiting room<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/211579443-Registration-for-Meetings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Meeting registration<\/a><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please also change meetings to requiring &#8220;authenticated users only.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To enable this setting when creating a meeting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Sign in to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.zoom.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Zoom web portal<\/a>.<\/li><li>Schedule a meeting or webinar.<\/li><li>Under <strong>Meeting Options<\/strong> or <strong>Webinar Options<\/strong>, click <strong>Only authenticated users can join<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Choose <strong>Sign in as MiamiOH.edu user<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please also visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamioh.edu\/it-services\/initiatives-and-projects\/info-security\/web-conferencing-security\/index.html\">new and improved security site for web conferencing tools<\/a>.
