With over a quarter of Miami students being Greek affiliated, recruitment is an annual tradition. Between men&#8217;s fraternity recruitment in January, and women&#8217;s sorority recruitment in January and February, a lot of exciting moments happened!<\/p>\n<p>Curious as to how many new students joined organizations? Here is the official breakdown of the 2017 recruitment statistics provided by the <a href=\"http:\/\/miamioh.edu\/student-life\/fraternity-sorority-life\/facts-stats\/recruitment-stats\/index.html\">Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity &amp; Sorority Life<\/a>:<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Panhellenic Sorority Formal Recruitment 2017:<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Number of sororities participating in formal recruitment: <strong>16<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Total number of women who registered: <strong>1247<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Total number of women who participated in Welcome Round: <strong>1105<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Total number of women who attended Preference Round:<strong> 1025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Total number of women who participated in bid matching: <strong>977<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Total number of women who received a bid: <strong>962<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Percent that matched during bid matching: <strong>98.15%<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Women who received their first choice: <strong>728<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Women who received there second choice: <strong>184<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Women who received their third choice: <strong>47<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">IFC Fraternity Formal Recruitment 2017:<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Number of fraternities participating in formal recruitment: <strong>23<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Total number of men who registered: <strong>1011<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Total number of men who participated in recruitment: <strong>881<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Total number of men who received\/accepted a bid: <strong>624<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Percent of eligible men that joined: <strong>70.83%<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to all the new members!
