The cold is creeping up on campus! We recently had a question come in on our @MiamiOH_StudentLife<\/a> Instagram account about the best winter coats and we asked students to submit their favorites. Here are some useful tips to stay warm along with winter coat brand suggestions submitted by your peers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 TIPS:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Get the Right Size<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choosing the right size for your winter coat is extremely important, especially since it will likely get much colder on campus as we approach winter break. A good-sized winter coat is ideally one that lets you layer up underneath comfortably. Besides keeping you warm, layering can also help you reasonably stay cozy even when you need to take off your coat as you enter campus buildings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Know Your Taste<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are tons of winter coats out there, with many different colors, materials, and designs. Do some research to figure out which general style YOU prefer. This will also help shopping for one easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set Your Budget<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Undoubtedly, you can get an inexpensive winter coat that\u2019s fairly good. Consider whether you\u2019ll be fine with a cheaper coat that may not last as long, or a more expensive coat that\u2019s built to last. Decide how much you\u2019re willing to spend and then stick with it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A student recommends this brand, and says that it \u201csells the BEST thermal wear.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abercrombie & Fitch<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another student says this brand\u2019s \u201cUltra Long Puffer\u201d is the best for them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aritzia<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A student says their favorite one of this brand is the \u201cSuper Puff.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Columbia<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three students recommended the Omni-Heat coat from Columbia. One even says that they \u201ccan\u2019t live without\u201d it in the winter!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goose<\/strong><\/a> and <\/strong>Moose Knuckles<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another student says that the \u201cSuper Puff\u201d from these brands is a great choice!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lands End<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One student said Lands End is \u201cexpensive but worth the investment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old Navy<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another student says that Old Navy is their go-to, and they love it even more because it usually has sales!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TJ Maxx<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A student praises this brand because of its fairly good prices and \u201camazing\u201d options!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uniqlo<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One student recommends this brand, especially its \u201cUltra Light Down Puffer.\u201d They say it is \u201cTHE SOFTEST EVER,\u201d so soft that their cat makes biscuits on it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A student says that these are the go-to for higher quality and warmer winter coats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
