This year\u2019s Homecoming Weekend is bigger and better than ever, packed with campus and community events all weekend long! We are so excited to welcome home Miami alumni of all generations and hope to make this experience like none other. This year\u2019s festivities are happening October 7-9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below, we have highlighted some of the biggest events happening on Saturday\u2026 but that\u2019s not it! Check out the full guide to the weekend schedule<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Homecoming Parade<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miami is bringing back its annual homecoming parade this year! Catch the long line of classic cars, floats, tractors, bikes, and more who will be traveling toward Millett Hall for the football pregame activities. The parade will start on Cook Field at 10 a.m., move down High St, onto Tallawanda Road, and end in Millett\u2019s west parking lot. There will also be prizes awarded for participants that have the most Miami red and white spirit, most Homecoming spirit, and are most creative!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Homecoming Tailgate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The west parking lot and lawn of Millett will be packed with food trucks, games, spirit, and fun for the pregame festivities! Walk around, socialize, and get excited about kickoff! Then, you can help welcome the Miami football team as they arrive and walk down Weeb Ewbank Way toward Yager Stadium during the \u201cHawk Walk.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many alumni groups and organizations will also have tents set up for you to see how to get involved or hang out with those you haven\u2019t seen in a while! Check out the list of participating groups<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miami Football vs. Kent State<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RedHawks take on the Golden Flashes of Kent State for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Yager Stadium. Last year, the Flashes denied us the opportunity to play in the MAC championship, so we need the stadium to be packed with energy! Make sure to stay for a special firework display after the game too! Oxtoberfest<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city of Oxford is hosting a German-themed, family-friendly festival called Oxtoberfest from 1 p.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday! Head uptown before or after the football game to enjoy contests, games, food trucks, kid activities, and music! Uptown Oxford will be closed off to traffic to allow businesses and organizations to set up booths in the streets that you won\u2019t want to miss! There are plenty of other events happening that you might be interested in and we encourage you to take advantage of them! We can\u2019t wait to celebrate this coming weekend with past, present, and future Miamians! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
