The midterm election is only a few days away and we\u2019ve got a cheat sheet to help you prepare!<\/span><\/p>\n

Election Day<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Date<\/b>: Tuesday, November 6, 2018<\/span><\/p>\n

Time<\/b>: 6:30am – 7:30pm <\/span>(tardiness will not be accepted)<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Essentials:<\/strong> Proof of address. If you registered with your home address and are voting at your home polling location, you can simply bring your driver\u2019s license when you vote (the address on your license must match your home address). However, if you registered to vote with your Miami address then you will need to generate your voter proof of address letter<\/a> and present it at the polls (you can either print, pull up on a laptop, or screenshot).<\/p>\n

Polling location<\/b>: You can NOT just show up to vote at the polling location that is most convenient to you. You <\/span>must<\/b>\u00a0vote at your assigned voting location. Oxford has four different polling locations – if you are registered to vote with your Miami address, you are assigned to one of them. If you try to vote at a different location, you will not be able to vote or will be required to cast a \u201cprovisional ballot\u201d (not ideal). To find out where you should go on Tuesday, visit CanIVote.org<\/a>. This website will verify that you are registered to vote and show you where you\u2019ll be voting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Candidates & Issues<\/b>:\u00a0Being an informed voter is super important! Learn about each candidate and what their stance is on important issues by visiting Ballot Ready<\/a>. This site will also show you all the issues that will be on your specific ballot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Absentee Ballot<\/b>: If you registered to vote by mail then you probably should have already requested your absentee ballot. Check your mailbox if you haven\u2019t already received your ballot. Every state has a different deadline for their absentee ballot, so make sure to submit yours before it\u2019s too late. In Ohio, the deadline to request your ballot is Saturday, November 3 at noon and must be postmarked by November 5 in order to be counted. Stamps can be purchased from the mail center in Shriver.
