PhD, MS Assistantships in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology at Miami University<\/strong>

The Biology Department at Miami University has several faculty with active research programs in terrestrial plant ecology, within a broader strength in ecology. Graduate students pursue a PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology (EEEB) <\/a>, a PhD or MS in Biology<\/a>, or a PhD or MS in Botany<\/a> .

Each student works with a mentor on thesis\/dissertation research, and receives additional input guidance from faculty members with expertise in complementary disciplines. Research foci within our program include mycorrhizal interactions, nutrient dynamics in forest ecosystems, forest community dynamics, and invasive species ecology.

Graduate students have access to facilities including the Miami University Ecology Research Center<\/a>, Willard Sherman Turrell Herbarium http:\/\/herbarium.muohio.edu\/, the Miami University Natural Areas, Hueston Woods State Park and State Nature Preserve, the Geospatial Analysis Center<\/a>, the Center for Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics<\/a>, and the Center for Advanced Microscopy and Imaging<\/a>, and the Center for Aquatic and Watershed Sciences.<\/a>

Graduate students are supported by teaching or research assistantships that include a stipend and tuition waiver. If you are interested, please contact one of the faculty members listed above. Applications are due January 1 and include a personal statement, CV, contact information for 3 references, transcripts, and, for international applicants, recent TOEFL scores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
