Diversity is the spice of life.  \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align:left\">We work in <strong>a variety of ecological systems<\/strong>, including terrestrial and aquatic habitats; microbial, plant, and animal populations and communities.  We also have projects that are purely theoretical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Successful students<\/strong> are highly motivated, and usually have diverse backgrounds including ecology, evolution, organismal biology, and mathematics or computer science. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Undergraduates<\/strong> interested in exploring ecology and perhaps developing their own research project should contact me about the variety of possible projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Graduate students<\/strong> interested in working in my lab should contact me as soon as possible to discuss availability and research interests. All graduate students will develop their own independent research projects. Graduate students may pursue M.S. or Ph.D. degrees in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamioh.edu\/cas\/academics\/departments\/biology\/academics\/graduate-studies\/botany\/index.html\">Botany<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamioh.edu\/cas\/academics\/departments\/biology\/academics\/graduate-studies\/biology\/index.html\">Biology<\/a> or a <a href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/cas\/academics\/programs\/eeeb\/\">Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/graduateschool.miamioh.edu\/register\/RFI\">All interested students should submit a Request for Information <strong>at this link<\/strong> from the Graduate School.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We welcome everyone in our lab and encourage applications from folks of all racial, gender, and ethnic identities.
