Between June 30-July 1, 1905, a flood ripped through the mining city of Guanajuato (located in South Central Mexico), resulting in the death of perhaps 1,000 citizens. Arroyo published at least one other broadside on the topic featuring one of Posada\u2019s illustrations. The article describes the horror that ensued and provides an explanation for the severity of the situation.
