With springtime comes new road construction which makes getting around the area challenging. \u00a0Please be aware of these upcoming projects which will affect travel to and from Miami’s campus this spring:<\/p>\n

Bonham Road Bridge Replacement<\/h1>\n

Located at the Oxford Township \/ City of Oxford line next to Leonard G. Howell Park, the existing bridge is a single-span steel pony truss built in 1965. The Engineer’s Office plans to replace the old bridge with a new three-span concrete slab structure. As part of the project, the roadway approaches will be realigned to ease the curves, increase sight distance, and accommodate a safer approach. A sidewalk \/ multi-use trail will also be constructed along the roadway and across the new bridge.\u00a0All work is scheduled for completion by late August, weather permitting.<\/p>\n

Road Closing and Maintenance of Traffic<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

Bonham Road will close 0.1 mile northeast of Shadowy Hills Drive and 0.4 mile southwest of Tallawanda Lane for the bridge replacement beginning Tuesday, March 29, 2016. The road is tentatively scheduled to reopen the week of August 29, 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

During this closure, local access will be maintained for residents, businesses, and emergency vehicles from either side of the bridge, depending upon one’s location, but motorists will not be permitted to pass through the construction zone and detours will be posted for all thru traffic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Detour<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

\"Bonham<\/a>Eastbound Bonham Road traffic will detour west on Sycamore Street in Oxford, north on Ohio 732 into Oxford Township, northeast on Somerville Road, and south on Oxford Milford Road to Bonham. Westbound traffic will reverse this route.<\/span><\/p>\n

Emergency Culvert Replacement on State Route 73<\/h1>\n

An emergency culvert replacement will require closing State Route 73 with a posted detour.\u00a0 The work will be conducted on SR73 between SR-127 and SR-177 (Hamilton-Richmond Rd.) east of campus. \u00a0Work is scheduled for March 28 \u2013 April 01, 2016.<\/p>\n

State Route 73 will close 0.8 miles west of State Route 127\u00a0beginning Monday, March 28. The road is tentatively scheduled to reopen April 1, 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n
