Changes to how meals are served may be necessary due to health and safety policies.

If you did not purchase conference meals, there are plenty of dining establishments in the Armstrong Student Center, on the Miami campus, and in uptown Oxford (6 to 7 blocks from Armstrong). Also, several local pizza and sandwich establishments will deliver to your lodging unit; your hotel’s front desk may have menus and can recommend where to order.

For questions concerning other establishments, feel free to ask anyone at the conference registration desk

The following no-smoking policy, mandated by the State of Ohio, has been adopted by Miami University and applies to the Armstrong Student Center:

In order to promote the health of our students, faculty, staff & visitors, all Miami University campuses are designated Smoke-Free Environments, effective August 1, 2008. Smoking is prohibited in all University-owned facilities and grounds. Smoking is only permitted in personal automobiles.

Activities and Entertainment

Join us after the plenary presentation in the Armstrong Red Zone for our own special “Lilly Trivia Contest” and fellowship. For Trivia, sign up at the registration desk as a team and test your knowledge of everything from assessment techniques to pop music! Don’t have a team? Sign up anyway and we will put one together for you.

If trivia is not your thing or you’re seeking a more relaxed community atmosphere, come to the Armstrong Shade Family room on Friday evening to enjoy music by The Lilly Hammers.

For a Quiet Moment

If you would like a quiet moment, there are many comfy spaces in Armstrong’s Shade Family Room.

Internet Access

During the Lilly Conference, the Armstrong Student Center provides attendees access to a wireless network specifically for the conference.
Attendees will receive this information when they check-in at the conference.

Conference App

Lilly conference attendees will have access to a mobile conference app, via Guidebook, prior to the start of the conference, that works on iOS devices (ipads and iphones) as well as Android devices. It will allow users to customize their conference experience: Create a personalized schedule, download session documents, even take notes that you can later send to yourself! The app will also allow you to interact with other conference attendees and presenters via messaging and email.

Attending Sessions

Preconference Workshops

Several half-day preconference workshops are offered on Thursday afternoon. Registration for the workshops must be made prior to the start of the conference.

Conference Sessions

There are several types of sessions, varying in length from 45 minutes to over an hour. The titles, abstracts, and proposals for sessions are available on the Presenters and Sessions page and in the mobile app (Guidebook). Please look these over before the conference to determine which sessions you would like to attend. Build your own personal schedule in Guidebook!

Presenter Round Tables

If you have purchased meals at the conference and would like to join one of the presenters at a special presenter’s round table during one of the meals, please check the Friday and Saturday luncheon tables and Friday dinner tables listed in the conference schedule. Space at the presenter round tables is limited, so we recommend that you sign up at the registration desk as soon as possible. NOTE: may be subject to change due to health and safety measures.

Arrive at Sessions Early!

We recommend that you arrive at sessions early in order to guarantee seating. For sessions that run concurrently, select more than one to attend—if your first choice is full, move to your second choice, etc. It is difficult to predict which sessions will be in most demand, and room sizes vary.
