As an adult, she married <em>\u0160iipaakana<\/em>, a Myaamia headman. Her older daughter, <em>Kiihkinehkii\u0161wa <\/em>\u2018Nancy Brouillette\u2019 (ca. 1804-1847), is facing forward in the painting. <em>Mahkoonsihkwa\u2019s <\/em>younger daughter, <em>Oonsaah\u0161inihkwa <\/em>\u2018Jane Slocum Bundy\u2019 (1815-1877), faces away because she refused to allow the artist George Winter to take a sketch of her. The three women probably worked together on many pieces of ribbonwork in their lifetimes.
