This organization allows students who are busy and have had a hard time finding community service hours during COVID to record as many community service hours as desired while working around individual schedules!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Big Little Empowerment Program empowers struggling k-12 students in the community by providing free, weekly, online, 1-on-1 tutoring sessions from volunteer Miami students that have been properly screened and trained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They are looking for 10 students to join the club\u2019s board of directors. Within 2 years they will achieve 501c3 status, and will work the remainder of this semester and over the summer to prepare the pilot program for a fall 2021 start date. If you\u2019re not interested in becoming a board member you can still be one of the first 6 tutors that will start fall of 2021! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If\nyou need community service hours, this is the way to go. You will have a big\nadvantage over your peers if you can show grad schools that you have a large\ncommitment to community service. After all, medicine is primarily service. You\nwill be helping the community your entire career so it\u2019s important you are\ncommitted to it! All that aside, you will be directly impacting the life of a\nstruggling student! You can build their self-confidence and change their\nlife! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
