Audition Reminder!
String Auditions: This is a friendly reminder that string auditions were due this past Sunday, August 14th. For any late auditions, please click on the link to record your excerpts, along with contacting the conductor, Dr. Averbach. https://miamioh.edu/cca/academics/departments/music/ensembles/symphony-orchestra/index.html
Woodwind/Brass Auditions: Audition dates are August 21st, 22nd, and 23rd.
Wind players will audition for Dr. Averbach and Professor Speck, at which time they shall indicate the ensemble(s) for which they wish to be considered.
MAKE EVERY EFFORT to audition in the block of time reserved for your instrument. Also, please sign for the earliest time at which you are available. Do not add times without first speaking to either Dr. Averbach or Professor Speck. Please try to audition on the same evening if you are not available during your time block.
If you must perform at a time other than that reserved for your instrument, please indicate your instrument when you sign up.
You will be asked to play scales and the audition excerpts; you might be asked to sight-read also.

Happy Spring Semester!
Welcome back! We are excited to announce our concert repertoire for our first cycle: Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov, Intermezzo sinfonico aus: Cavalleria rusticana by Mascagni, and Liszt’s Piano Concerto no. 2 performed by our very own Dr. Frank Huang! This concert will take place on Friday March 11th at 7:30 pm in Hall Auditorium! Free Admission. There will also be a livestream! We hope to see you there!
