Last week, the Miami University Hamilton Harriers men\u2019s basketball team closed out
their regular season by facing off against their rivals, the Miami Middletown ThunderHawks, on
their home court.
At the start of the game, the Harriers\u2019 Terrell Pollard defeated the ThunderHawks Alex
Mullins for the ball at the tip-off. This marked the start of a successful game for Pollard, who
served as the team\u2019s leading scorer with his 22-point contribution.
The score remained relatively close during the initial part of the game. Halfway through
the first half, the Harriers held a small lead of four points against their opponent, with the score
being 22-18. Their lead progressively grew throughout the half, though, and by the end of it, the
score was 37-24.
The game was a success for Harriers\u2019 Shaeden Olden as well, who scored a total of 12
points and led the team in rebounds, steals, and assists. In one particularly exciting instance
towards the end of the first half, Olden broke away with a steal from the ThunderHawks and,
upon reaching the Harrier\u2019s end of the court, lobbed the ball against the backboard for teammate
Terrell Pollard to complete an uncontested dunk.
Midway through the second half, the score stood 53-37 with Harriers leading by 18
points. Ultimately, despite a good fight on the part of the visiting ThunderHawks, the Harriers
held their lead for the remainder of the game, defeating them 72-52.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This game concluded both teams\u2019 regular seasons; however, there\u2019s still more basketball
ahead for the Hamilton Harriers. In fact, both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams qualified for the
USCAA Small College Basketball National Championship. The sixth-seeded men\u2019s team will
play Southern Maine Community College on March 4th at 10:30 P.M, while the third-seeded
women\u2019s team is scheduled to face Villa Maria College on the same day at 3:45. So, be sure to
