{"id":94,"date":"2022-10-24T12:59:25","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T16:59:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.miamioh.edu\/miami-regionals-e-campus\/?p=94"},"modified":"2022-10-24T12:59:26","modified_gmt":"2022-10-24T16:59:26","slug":"how-to-access-higher-education-without-high-debt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.miamioh.edu\/miami-regionals-e-campus\/2022\/10\/how-to-access-higher-education-without-high-debt\/","title":{"rendered":"How to access higher education without high debt"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Students can earn their bachelor\u2019s degree tuition-free while working part-time \u2014 or add a new skill to their resume without spending a dime \u2014and they can do it 100% online, thanks to innovative programs offered at Miami University Regionals and E-Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">It\u2019s all part of the college\u2019s commitment to making the Miami experience affordable and accessible to all, Senior Regional Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Moira Casey said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">\u201cEveryone who works at Miami Regionals prides themselves on our mission: to provide the opportunity for a college degree to community members who might not have the finances, the academic background, or the desire to access a more traditional college experience,\u201d Casey said. \u201cAccess, affordability, and student success are daily priorities for everyone here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Here are a few ways full-time college students, working adults, or even teens who haven\u2019t finished high school yet can earn their degree or professional certificate without racking up debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Middle and high school students: Earn college credit at no cost<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/regionals\/admission\/college-credit-plus\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/regionals\/admission\/college-credit-plus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">With College Credit Plus,<\/a> 7th- to 12-grade students can earn up to 120 college credits at no cost to them or their families and graduate with their high school diploma and an associate\u2019s degree \u2014 or be well on their way to a bachelor\u2019s degree. And Miami Regionals E-Campus offers hundreds of courses 100% online, so students can study from their home or high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Working adults: Upskill or reskill for free<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/techcred\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/techcred\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ohio\u2019s TechCred grants<\/a> provide funding to employers for workers to earn professional certifications in fields like digital marketing, information technology, manufacturing and robotics. Many of these programs are available 100% online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligible adults: Launch a new career without paying a dime<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/workforce.ohio.gov\/initiatives\/initiatives\/imap\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/workforce.ohio.gov\/initiatives\/initiatives\/imap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ohio\u2019s Individual Microcredential Assistance Program (IMAP)<\/a> helps unemployed, partially employed or low-income adults earn microcredentials at no cost. Miami Regionals E-Campus students can obtain skills and professional certificates to launch careers in information technology, manufacturing, robotics and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Full-time students: Let your part-time job pay your tuition<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/regionals\/admission\/work-plus\/index.html?_ga=2.46289319.187316341.1666618930-313483052.1638379178\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/regionals\/admission\/work-plus\/index.html?_ga=2.46289319.187316341.1666618930-313483052.1638379178\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Miami Regionals\u2019 Work<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/regionals\/admission\/work-plus\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/regionals\/admission\/work-plus\/\">+ program<\/a> partners with Ohio employers like Worthington Industries, the YMCA, Butler County Regional Transit Authority and The Fischer Group. Work+ participants work 20 to 24 hours per week, and their employers pay their hourly wages plus their full-time tuition and general fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Everyone: Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Many students qualify for Pell grants, which cover almost the full cost of Regionals\u2019 tuition, and the college has many scholarships available based on both needs and merit. That means students who start in the 2022-2023 school year can earn a bachelor\u2019s degree for about $28,000 before scholarships, grants and aid.
