Due to this rapidly evolving technology, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by how we can use AI, what AI chat tool to use, how to get the most out of AI prompts, and concerns about ethics and artificial intelligence. Participate in the Miami University Microlearning Series on AI Fundamentals to learn more about AI. Miami University students, faculty, and staff can enroll in the course for free. After completing the course, you’ll receive a certificate of completion and a digital badge. The digital badge verifies your new skills. Share it on your resume, portfolio, or favorite social platforms!
What is the AI Fundamentals Microlearning Series?
Thought leaders at Miami University have created a series of bite-sized videos and content to support the University community, students, alums, and the general public with an introduction to generative AI. Work through five self-paced, online coursework modules, and tune in to corresponding one-hour webinars to hear from and interact with Miami faculty.

Who should enroll in the AI Fundamentals Microlearning Series?
- Any adult who wants to confidently and responsibly use AI tools.
- Miami University alums, students, staff, and faculty.
Individuals can pay $30 to access the online learning modules and receive a digital badge upon completion. Current Miami University students, staff, and faculty may self-enroll at no cost, in Canvas, by following the appropriate link.
AI tools can spark new ideas and break down a variety of content. They can help educators and business professionals, for example, but did you know that they can also assist with tasks such as home organization, meal planning, and trip planning?
Is completing the AI Fundamentals course worth it?
Yes. Complete the five online modules, and you’ll receive a certificate of completion and a verified digital badge to add to your LinkedIn profile and resume. We also recommend watching the live webinars for interactive Q&A with our AI experts. Webinar participation isn’t required, but it will help reinforce concepts and tips that you will learn in the modules. Session recordings will be made available to all registrants after the events.
