13 Things To Do Today to Get Ready for Fall Semester

Fall semester is just a few days away! Are you ready? Follow this checklist to ensure a smooth start to fall semester.

  • Order your books! You don’t have to wait for the first day of classes – just search by course or schedule in the Miami online bookstore.
  • Find Canvas and get familiar with the program – this is a great place to start.
  • Start getting in the habit of checking your Miami University email each day.
  • If you’d like, give your family members access to your student records (e.g. grades bills, etc.). To do this, log in to myMiami and click on the “Student” tab. By clicking on the link provided in the “Sharing Access to My Personal Records” section, you can add people to have access to your personal records at Miami.
  • Complete Part 1 of SAPU, which becomes available in July. The deadline to complete the first portion of the program is before school starts, so you’ll want to make sure it’s complete. Regional Transfer students and Regional CCP students are not required to complete SAPU.
  • If you wish to report a disability, need for testing/academic accommodations, or IEP/504 plan, visit the Miami University Student Disability Services webpage.
  • Review the information given to you in your online orientation.
  • Fill out your FAFSA with Miami University’s Federal School Code 003077. Learn more about financial aid, FAFSA, and scholarships here.
  • Pay your bill for the semester. If you have questions about bill payment, contact OneStop.
  • Register for RedHawk Refunds: RedHawk Refunds is a direct deposit option that is fast, free, secure, and convenient. RedHawk Refunds gives you access to financial aid refunds, student account refunds, or other funds owed to you by Miami. Look for a registration email from redhawkrefunds@afford.com to your Miami email account.
