This event was designed to build awareness, remove barriers and discuss current issues\/trends in technology for people with disabilities.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><i><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;font-size: large\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div><i><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;font-size: large\">Many experts in the fields of accessible technology were on-hand to provide first-hand guidance to the approximately 75 people in attendance on a variety\u00a0of of topics of interest\u00a0including\u00a0creating accessible\u00a0PDF&#8217;s,\u00a0captioning, universal design, building\u00a0accessible\u00a0content for the classroom, e-books, etc. The Accessible Technology Symposium was covered in a recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.journal-news.com\/news\/news\/miami-tackles-accessibility-issues-in-symposium\/nfSDT\/\">Journal News<\/a> article\u00a0as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><i><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;font-size: large\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><i><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;font-size: large\">Special thanks and kudos in IT Services go out to:<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><i><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;font-size: large\">JP\u00a0Natale\u00a0and Joe\u00a0Bazeley\u00a0for providing financial and moral support<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;font-size: large\">Sean\u00a0Poley\u00a0for leading the event from start-to-finish<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;font-size: large\">Kristin\u00a0Kieffer\u00a0for assisting with marketing and promotion<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;font-size: large\">Betsy\u00a0Kreger\u00a0for helping to coordinate the logistics<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;font-size: large\">In 2015 the symposium will be moved\u00a0to the\u00a0Shriver\u00a0Center to better accommodate a larger audience. \u00a0Mark your calendars for April 17, 2015 and visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamioh.edu\/accessforall\/\">Access for All<\/a> website soon to view photos and videos from the event this year.<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On April 4, 2014 the 1st annual Access for All, Accessible Technology Symposium took place in King Library.
