It\u2019s finally happening: We\u2019re rolling out LastPass to all IT Services employees!<\/p>\n
What does this mean? Essentially, everyone in IT Services will have access to LastPass via a browser plugin and\/or website. On the morning of October 31<\/strong>, you will receive an email from LastPass to set up your account. The email will have a link to start the account setup process. \u00a0Please follow the Knowledge Base article below to set up your account once you get the email: \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n https:\/\/miamioh.teamdynamix.com\/TDClient\/KB\/ArticleDet?ID=38780<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Chris Edester and Dirk Tepe have also worked hard to develop an API that can be used to retrieve and store passwords using code. This API is still under development; if you have interest in the API, please <\/span>look at the GIT code<\/span><\/a> and make a merge request.<\/span><\/p>\n LastPass is a password management tool that helps users keep track of all their passwords. It\u2019s like a locked bank vault with all of your passwords stored inside; all you have to do is create a strong security key to protect that vault. LastPass will store all of your important passwords and sites here. This way, you only have to remember one password, instead of a hundred.<\/span><\/p>\n This will also simplify sharing privileged passwords among team members. As part of the rollout, we\u2019ll be providing instructions on how to store passwords so they can be securely shared with multiple members of a team.\u00a0Please see the above KB article for more information on password sharing.<\/span><\/p>\n A friendly reminder: <\/b>Password strength is critical in today\u2019s digital age. Best security practices dictate that every login should have a different security key, but a lot of folks tend to reuse passwords or choose words that are simple to guess (e.g., \u201cpassword\u201d).
