News from the CIO: Expect Respect Photo

Be on the lookout for an invite to the Expect Respect photo shoot on October 6, 2021 at 11am!

Folks,

The Office of the Dean of Students is beginning a campaign titled “Expect Respect” aimed at creating a unified community and educating students on what it means to respect others. The program raises awareness about how each of us can help create a campus community where all can live, learn, work and thrive – with all of our differences.

The campaign will take place the week of October 25. It includes a poster campaign, student organization training, programming, and it will include over 300+ Miami community members wearing Expect Respect t-shirts on 10/27. Training opportunities will also continue throughout the year.

As part of that program, offices across campus are being invited to create a poster with a message about what Expect Respect means for their areas. We’ve got a slot scheduled on Wednesday October 6 at 11:10 AM to get an IT Services photo taken together at the Upham Arch for our version.

Since we’ll be outside, masks are not required by Miami policy. Since we don’t know how many folks will be there, we encourage you to bring a mask, and to continue to wear it if you prefer to do so.

We’ll be sending out an IT Services wide invite to that shortly – it’s not required and everyone will be marked optional, but you’re very welcome to join if you’d like to!
