The Student Body | Brian Vogt

Brian Vogt is a senior honors student with majors in Creative Writing and Individualized Studies: Found Object Art. Brian uses his art and writing to incite dialogue about socio-political issues. As an artist, Brian has worked with world-renowned artist Ron Fondaw to create a sustainable sculpture out of adobe clay at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park. He also teaches found object workshops with kids in order to share the sustainable and also therapeutic benefits of this art form with future generations.

“The Student Body is a life-sized statue that I constructed almost entirely out of litter I collected on campus.” Brian came up with the idea to create The Student Body when he noticed the amount of litter on Miami’s campus. “I decided to create an art piece to bring awareness to littering and the impact it has on our campus environment.”
