Maggie is a sophomore majoring in zoology who always enjoys creative expression through various art forms. Maggie’s painting is a representation of the impact of the ivory trade on elephant populations. She states, “Approximately 20,000 elephants are killed for their tusks every year, the resulting ivory is illegally traded on the black market. This endangers already dwindling elephant populations, which are vital members of the ecosystems they inhabit.”
