{"id":33,"date":"2024-10-11T15:20:48","date_gmt":"2024-10-11T19:20:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.miamioh.edu\/in-the-loop\/?p=33"},"modified":"2025-05-20T15:27:13","modified_gmt":"2025-05-20T19:27:13","slug":"trademarks-and-licensing-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.miamioh.edu\/in-the-loop\/2024\/10\/trademarks-and-licensing-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"Trademarks and Licensing Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It has been a busy few months in the licensing and trademarks world here at Miami and there are many new and exciting things to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On October 26, we will <a href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/news\/2024\/09\/swine-city-brewing-miami-university-announce-pair-of-beverages-to-support-redhawk-student-athletes.html\">launch a branded seltzer and beer<\/a>, which came from the partnership between local brewery Swine City Brewing and Van Wagner. Stay tuned for more information on launch day activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an effort to contribute towards the 2040 carbon neutrality goal, we have been working to find more ways to be sustainable in the products that are branded and sold. All licensed vendors are now required to disclose their sustainability efforts as a part of their license with Miami through the Collegiate Licensing Company. Each year they will disclose specific information through the Corporate Responsibility Questionnaire as a part of their license renewal process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the UCM webpage you can now find a list of all <a href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/university-communications-marketing\/trademarks-licensing\/licensed-products.html\">vendors and retailers that sell Miami branded gear<\/a>.
