A guide on how to effectively use Miami\u2019s brand is available \u2014 right now, you can access Version 2.1 of our <a href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/miami-brand\/#collection-links-image-title-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brand Guidelines<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.1, you say? Where did the &#8220;.1&#8221; come from? Aren\u2019t we still on Version 2?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, UCM introduced updated Brand Standards. This was a major update that included new colors, using the Beveled-M in a new format, updated language, expanded color combinations, and much more. Given the extent of these changes from the previous guide, it was designated <strong>Version 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In early 2025, a smaller update was released \u2014 <strong>Version 2.1 <\/strong>\u2014 incorporating a few refinements and clarifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What changed?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-secondary-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Version 2 (Early 2024):<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Beveled-M Supergraphic style (Page 12)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expanded Branding (Page 25)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expanded Color Palette, Ratios, and Color Combinations (Pages 29-31)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rankings and Statistics Styles (Page 35)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stock Photography (Page 43)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Common Elements and Design Layout Examples (Pages 44-51)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Updated language and clearer guidance throughout&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Version 2.1 (Early 2025):<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Logo Misuse (Bottom row, center, Page 21)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Co-branding (Page 23)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Approved Partnerships vs. Collaboration\/Association\/Fueled by<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Logo Placement and Lockups for Collaborations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Another new feature introduced by UCM is the <a href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/miami-brand\/update-log.html\">Brand Guidelines Update Log<\/a>. This resource documents all changes to the Brand Standards, making it easy for users to track updates in each new version.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Miami\u2019s brand is constantly evolving, just like our students, faculty, and staff. Each update refines our identity across all platforms and elevates Miami to be recognized at a national level. Whether it\u2019s a major revision like Version 2 or a smaller refinement like Version 2.1, these updates help strengthen how we present Miami to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we continue to grow and adapt our brand, we encourage everyone to stay informed and make use of the latest guidelines. Whether you&#8217;re designing materials or simply representing Miami, these standards serve as a valuable resource.
