Tea Tasting: A Sip Around the World

Ebru Duffield, Irena Kola, Antigoni Papadimitriou, Burcin Bayram, and Eun Chong Yang participated in the International Tea Tasting Event hosted by ISSS on Oct. 14. We had many students who tasted tea introduced by IFSAM: Turkish black tea, Albanian & Greek Mountain tea, Korean ginseng tea, corn silk tea, and ginger tea. Our table was quite popular, and in just 1 hour we were out of tea and cups.

Miami University Orchestra opens its 120th season with a benefit concert for the victims of the Türkiye and Syria earthquake

The International Faculty and Staff Association of Miami (IFSAM) has come together in an effort to fundraise for the victims of the earthquake through a number of initiatives. IFSAM member Professor Ricardo Averbach, who is the conductor of the Miami University Symphony Orchestra, offered the opening concert of the season as the event that will launch our response to this shattering disaster that affected members of our faculty, staff and students, who have friends and relatives in the region.

The performance included the participation of IFSAM President and IFSAM Faculty: Jacqueline Rioja Velarde; Professors Fauzia E. Ahmed, Ebru Duffield, Mert Bal, Zulal Sevkli, and Mehmet Sevkli.

THE BAKE SALE AT THE BENEFIT CONCERT WAS A HIT!!

GUESTS HAD A VARIETY OF TURKISH SWEETS AND DESSERT SPECIALITIES TO CHOOSE FROM AT THE INTERMISSION AND AFTER THE CONCERT.
