Taking Action to Defend Democracy: A Conversation (4/17@6:30PM, Armstrong Center)

*On Monday, April 17th at 6:30pm, Jeffrey (Miami Class of 2001) and Natasha Hartman will participate in a moderated discussion entitled “Taking Action to Defend Democracy: A Conversation” in the Harry T. Wilks Theater (Armstrong Student Center, Oxford campus).

The Hartmans — co-founders of Ukrainian Action, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the supply of aid to Ukrainians affected by the ongoing conflict — will speak both about the Ukraine war and its impacts and also more generally about how ordinary citizens can promote and defend democratic values and institutions in their day-to-day lives.  This talk, part of Better Together Week on the Oxford campus, is co-sponsored by the Menard Family Center for Democracy, the Miami Center for Student Engagement, Activities and Leadership, the Harry T. Wilks Institute for Leadership and Service, META, the College of Education, Health and Society and the City of Oxford.

The event is free and open to the public, with no tickets required.
