IAS performance weekend starts Friday, February 18th, with the premiere of both Maia Aoibheil ‘s original work, Why the Native Child Cries and Trish Grogan’s original work A Spirited Adventure, as well as Arianna Rose’s Family by Numbers directed by Patrick Redden!

Family by Numbers by Arianna Rose is a lyrical theatre memory play reliving the lives and hardships of a five person family. As the characters narrate their stories, the family recounts their memories and how their lives have changed.

Cast and Crew
Jonathan Erwin (Father) – Jonathan is a second year theater major with a co-major in arts management. He has loved performing in stage performances, acting in scenes for a directing class, short films, and student written plays. Jonathan last participated in Miami’s Fringe festival in “The End of The World” and “One”. He is extremely grateful to be working with such amazing mentors, peers, and friends. He would like to thank his supporting friends and family for their support.
Mallory Stiles – Mallory is a first year Theatre major with a double major in Marketing who is a Prodesse Scholar concentrating in Arts and Activism. This is the second show Mallory has participated in at Miami. She last worked as Nina in Rossum’s Universal Robots in the fall of 2021. She would like to thank her fellow company members for supporting her as she goes through this process for the first time, as well as her family for always showing their encouragement.
Drew Grant (Oldest Child) – Drew is a third year Theatre major with a minor in Communications and Journalism. This is the first live show Drew is acting in since coming to Miami in the fall of 2019 due to the pandemic, and he is extremely excited to be back on stage. Drew has worked on past Miami theatre productions such as the past two fall fringe projects as an actor and dramaturg. He would like to thank his directors and production teams for supporting him through this process, and his parents for making the trip from Chicago to see him perform.
Kylee Pauley (Middle Child) – Kylee is a fourth year Theatre major. This is their first year at Miami University after transferring from Sinclair Community College in Dayton. This is also Kylee’s first production and debut at Miami University. Past credits at Sinclair include Puffs, Antigone, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and SLUT: The Play. They would like to thank their friends, family, and partner for being so supportive throughout their journey in the arts.
Caroline Reckers (Youngest Child) – Caroline is a third year Biology major with a co-major in Premedical Studies and minors in Musical Theatre and Medical Sociology. This is her second time performing with IAS and she is very excited to share her performance with you. In addition to involvement with the 2021 season of IAS, Caroline has also worked on shows such as The Butterflies Promise and A Beginner’s Guide to High School Dances. She would like to thank her family and friends for all the support they have provided throughout the years as well as the other members of the IAS company that have made this process possible.
Jenna Wrona (Lighting Design) – Jenna is a third year Accountancy major with a minor in theatre arts. This is her third production doing lighting and also sound design. She was a part of Mother Earths Gallery of Broken things as the lighting designer and also the 2021 Fall Fringe Festival doing sound design. She has also worked on past productions as well being on the electrics team here at Miami. She would like to thank her friends, family, and the IAS company members who have helped her learn and grow throughout the making of this performance.
Julia Parker (Sound and Set Design) – Julia is a fourth year Theatre major with minors in English Literature and Social Justice Studies. In her last year here, she is excited to be participating in the Independent Artist Series for the first time with Family By Numbers her introduction to Sound Design. She was last seen in The Comedy of Errors and last heard in Rossum’s Universal Robots. She would like to thank her family, friends, and teachers for their constant support and encouragement.
Delaney Wilson (Stage Manager) – Delaney is a second year Arts Management and Arts Entrepreneurship major with minors in Theatre and Musical Theatre. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to try her hand at Stage Managing for Family By Numbers in the Independent Artist Series this year. Delaney can be previously seen in “The Helpers” and heard in “Silas, The Uninvited”, both part of IAS in the spring of 2021. She would like to thank her family and friends for the constant love and support of her as she pursues her passions.
Emma “Ems” Herwick (Choreographer and Movement Coach) – Emma is a Senior Kinesiology major with minors in Coaching and Dance. They have been involved in theatre and dance since they were 4 years old, and began choreographing their freshman year of high school. At Miami, they have participated in Stage Left, Fringe, IAS, New Wave, and MUMB productions as an actor, dancer, choreographer, and director. Ems is currently cast with Onyx Independent World in Dayton, OH. They would like to thank their family, friends, and cast members for their love and support.
