If approved, students moving to new rooms MUST move PRIOR to leaving for winter break so that we are able to use your former space for other students. If you do not vacate your current space prior to Break, your room change may be denied.

If you’d like to request a single/private room, you will need to complete the online Single Room Request form. To do this, simply login to your Online Housing Account (www.miamioh.edu/Housingcontract), click on the “Online Forms” link, and then select “Single Room Request.”

Remember, if your room has a vacancy at semester break, you must only occupy one person’s portion of the room (bed, desk, floor space, walls, etc). This is very important as we work to finalize housing assignments for hundreds of new and returning students for spring. Students who choose to occupy more than their portion of the room may be charged with a “Failure to Comply” violation. Such a violation will remain a part of their student file, and a sanction will result, and may include administrative consolidation to a different room.

LEAVING CAMPUS?

Are you planning to graduate in December, study abroad, withdraw, or student-teach outside the Oxford area second semester? If you are planning to leave the Oxford area for Spring semester, please complete a Not Returning to Housing Next Semester form. The form can be found in the Forms section of the Campus Services Center website (www.miamioh.edu/Housing). This will ensure that your billing is accurate.

MEAL PLANS

For continuing students, unspent dining dollars will roll-over into your spring semester account (depending on your scholarship, some meal plans do not roll over to spring semester). You can make changes to your spring semester meal plan selection through the first day of spring semester. To do this, simply login to your Online Housing Account (www.miamioh.edu/Housingcontract), click on the “Online Forms” link, and then select “Change My Meal Plan.”

For graduating or withdrawing students, unspent dining dollars are not refundable or transferable. We encourage you to monitor your balance regularly, and budget carefully if considering a future deposit before the end of the semester.

MULAA

Your MUlaa account remains active as long as you are enrolled. Any balance remaining at the time of graduation or withdrawal will be credited to your bursar account and applied to outstanding charges, according to the policies and procedures of the Office of the Bursar.

SPRING SEMESTER MOVE-IN/RETURN TO CAMPUS

Residence halls open on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 9:00am. Without a specific need to be on campus, the earliest that students can request to return early is Saturday, January 21. An online break housing request must be submitted in order to return on this day and students will be billed their daily cohort rate for the one day early arrival. The request form is on the housing portal (www.miamioh.edu/housingcontract), and will be available in December. Students who have travel reasons to arrive earlier than Saturday should make arrangements to stay off-campus with a friend or make hotel reservations. Students who return to their room without approval will be billed the unapproved rate of $55/day. More information about break housing can be found on our website (https://www.miamioh.edu/campus-services/home/living-at-miami/university-break-housing/index.html).

If you have any questions about how the semester change might affect you, please contact us!

The following message was sent to all on-campus students by email.
