The email below was sent to all rising second year students required to live on campus next year about the room selection process that opened today they will be participating in.
Dear Student,
This is a friendly reminder that the 2023-2024 Room Selection process for rising second year students is now beginning. This is the process for you to choose your university housing for next year. New this year we have a helpful tutorial video for the room selection process. Watch the tutorial video to see what the process will look like!
There are three important things to know:
Step 1: Start your application. To begin your process, you will start an online application, which you can do now. Login to the Online Housing System and click the link for “Register for Housing.” This is your chance to begin searching for roommate(s) if applicable. If you have specific roommates you’d like to live with, you must set up a roommate group PRIOR to room selection. Requesting a roommate after the room selection process begins adds additional steps to the process and may result in losing your desired room.
NOTE: your application will remain listed as incomplete until you select a room on room selection day.
Step 2: Lottery Timeslot Email. On April 14 you will receive your randomly assigned room selection lottery time by email. This will tell you the specific day and time you will be able to start selecting your room during the week of April 17.
Step 3: Room Selection. Beginning at your specified lottery time (or anytime after), you will return to your online housing account to select a room for next year. If you set-up a roommate group, you would be able to assign your roommate(s) at the same time as well.

At Miami University we highly value the residential experience, and as a reminder, second-year Miami students are required to live on campus. Please keep this in mind as we are not able to release students from their housing requirement as a result of signing an off-campus lease.
