Kurkov visited Miami University in 2008 to talk about contemporary Ukrainian fiction and to introduce the film, <em>A Friend of the Deceased<\/em>, based on his novella <em>A Matter of Death and Life<\/em> (Kurkov wrote the screenplay). He also met with Miami students on the 2011 Havighurst Summer Workshop led by Vitaly Chernetsky.<\/p>\n<p>Below are links to articles Kurkov has written about the events unfolding in Kyiv.<\/p>\n<p><a
