Why Miami?
“I chose to go to Miami because it is a place where undergraduate students have limitless possibilities. Miami made me feel valued throughout the admissions process and has continued to do so as a student. A large selling point is the emphasis on undergraduate education, and that point is very much true. I can’t picture myself accomplishing what I have been able to so far anywhere else.”
Best Miami Experience
“The Miami University Men’s Glee Club is an organization that has allowed me to continue a hobby while creating an environment filled with brotherhood. My freshman year we travelled to Washington D.C. to participate in a conference of the National Collegiate Choral Organization (NCCO). It was the experience of a lifetime to sing in such a prestigious conference and it was during that trip that I realized how special the Glee Club is.”
“Working with the Government Relations Network has allowed me to be engaged with Miami, have real life applications to my studies and make great friends. I have grown professionally starting as an intern and now serve as the Legislative Director. These opportunities have given me skills that while not taught in the classroom, are still a part of the Miami experience. This growth has allowed me to be a part of the team that organized the Spring Advocacy Conference and met with Ohio legislators – a highlight of my time at Miami.”
Advice to Students
“My advice is to get involved in a variety of ways on campus to get a holistic college experience. Join clubs that will help you professionally, continue your hobbies (or jump into a new one) and surround yourself with people to have fun. Getting involved is how you will find your place at Miami and get connected to all of the amazing things Miami has to offer.”
