All Government Relations Network (GRN) members are eligible to live in the GRN Living Learning Community (LLC). LLCs are communities in residence halls intended to foster relationships between students through common interests and goals. For the 2020-2021 school year, the GRN LLC will be located in Stanton Hall along with the Bridges and Career Cluster Communities. Stanton is the most recently renovated residence hall located in South Quad in close proximity to the Recreation Center, Maple Street Commons dining hall and MacCracken market.
As a member of the GRN, standards are high. This means participation in study abroad, internships, undergraduate research, and other high-impact experiences are an expectation, and opportunities will be provided to all interested students. Our residents are a mix of freshmen and returning students. The returning students serve as mentors who help freshmen navigate university life. Participants have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the direction of the university through advocacy efforts. Students develop soft skills transferable to various professions.
The GRN LLC is not restricted to political science majors, as the experiences provided are not exclusive to government. Students of all majors, colleges, and interests have participated in the past.
The GRN offers a course that allows students to develop their professional skills and orient themselves with the university’s resources. The course functions as an introduction to university life, equipping students with the tools necessary to stand out and succeed professionally and academically.
