How do we combat these misconceptions in our classes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-background\" style=\"background:linear-gradient(90deg,rgba(255,245,204,0.88) 0%,rgb(181,255,230) 50%,rgba(36,132,143,0.78) 100%)\">What Is A Misconception? Why Are They Important To Address?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Misconceptions- <strong>a belief that contradicts the currently accepted state of scientific evidence.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Misconceptions are socially accepted as facts but are not based on scientific facts. Anticipate- Before planning your lessons do research to understand the students&#8217; conception. \n<ul class=\"has-background wp-block-list\" style=\"background-color:#f7eac8\">\n<li>Are there certain phrases or terms that need to be extra-clarified <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are the key ideas and misconceptions, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what language do we need to be careful about, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what have children learned about previously that will help them build their understanding of this topic?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What questions can I anticipate my students to have <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background wp-block-list\">\n<li>Diagnose &amp; Address\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How can my students <strong><em>uncover<\/em><\/strong> the misconceptions <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can my students come to rethink these misconceptions through their own understanding?  \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Using Cartoons, activities, stations, etc&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>finding out what our students think, then building on these ideas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assess &amp;
