examples!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Zoom In<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>What is the strategy?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Asks learners to observe a portion of an image close up and <strong>develop a hypothesis<\/strong> as to what the image is<\/li>\n<li>New visual information is then presented and the learner is asked to look again and see if they want to change their hypothesis<\/li>\n<li>Continue unveiling sections of the image until the whole thing is displayed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1770 alignright\" strategy?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To show students that it&#8217;s <strong>okay<\/strong> to change your mind about something<\/li>\n<li>It is important to be <strong>open-minded<\/strong> and flexible in order to change your hypothesis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What&#8217;s an example of this strategy?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For an anatomy lesson, this strategy could be useful when teaching about the different papers around the classroom (N,E,S,W)\n<ul>\n<li><strong>N<\/strong> = Needs (what more information do you need?)<\/li>\n<li><strong>E<\/strong> = Excitements<\/li>\n<li><strong>S<\/strong> = Stances<\/li>\n<li><strong>W<\/strong> = Worries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Have the students write their ideas on sticky notes and place them on the poster papers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img classroom<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What&#8217;s an example of this strategy?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>GMOs is a safe controversial topic to discuss (are they beneficial or not) because the two different stances not to offend each other<\/li>\n<li>Give CREDIBLE articles about the benefits and harms of GMOs and let the students discuss their own thoughts by placing sticky notes around the <strong>color<\/strong> that they think best represents the essence of that idea<\/li>\n<li>Have the students pick a <strong>symbol<\/strong> that they think best represents the essence of that idea<\/li>\n<li>Have the students pick an <strong>image<\/strong> that they think best represents the essence of that idea<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" teaching mitosis, divide the students up into five groups and have them come up with a color, symbol, and image for each of the five stages of mitosis<\/li>\n<li>Have one person from each group come up and write their ideas on the board<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MTV strategies are critical to understanding how students are thinking! It gives them freedom to express their thoughts, feelings, questions, etc. in many different ways.
