Each group will be assigned to a different character in the novel such as:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Master Bob Hart<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Young Bob (Master Hart\u2019s Son)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Roland (Corey\u2019s Father)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mama (Corey\u2019s Mother)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mingo (Fellow Slave)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mr. Renfield (Conductor on the Underground Railroad)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Each student would have to complete a form such as the one below independently. I would also be actively conferencing with each group to make sure they were having meaningful discussions. I would then have the students write down on a graphic organizer what sentence, phrase, and word they chose independently which I found on the website: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rcsthinkfromthemiddle.com\/sentence-phrase-word.html\">http:\/\/www.rcsthinkfromthemiddle.com\/sentence-phrase-word.html<\/a>.
