Scripps), Maureen Westrick (AAA Club Alliance), Chrissy Walters (American Greetings), Dan Heitger, Jan Eighme, Beth Carlton (Progressive Insurance), Katie Tew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/miamioh.edu\/profiles\/fsb\/accountancy-advisory-group\/index.html\">Accountancy Advisory Group<\/a> (AAG) Fall 2025 Meeting, held on November 13\u201314, 2025, focused on departmental updates, strategic priorities, and a brainstorming session with students. The group welcomed several new members:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two student representatives\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/reese-cordonnier\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reese Cordonnier<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/zachary-villeneuve\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zach Villeneuve<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Four early-career professionals &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/cameronjcox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cameron Cox,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dominik-del-ghingaro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dominik Del Ghingaro<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/oliviardodd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Olivia Dodd<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/nathan-schuster\/\">Nathan Schuster<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/chad-palmer-ba1b4428\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chad Palmer<\/a>, a new representative from Deloitte<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Welcome Reception and Departmental Updates <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting began with a welcome from the AAG Executive Committee and remarks from Dean Jenny Darroch. Department updates included news on enrollment and admissions, noting that <strong>accountancy majors are up 70% from 2021\u20132022, <\/strong>and MAcc demand is high. New faculty members <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.miamioh.edu\/doamu\/matt-cobabe\/\">Matt Cobabe<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.miamioh.edu\/doamu\/ted-polat\/\">Ted Polat<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.miamioh.edu\/doamu\/henry-wang\/\">Henry Wang<\/a> were introduced, and two new open tenure-track positions were announced, to start in Fall 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Department Chair <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/anne-m-farrell-miami-u-accountancy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anne Farrell<\/a> shared an outline of short-and medium term priorities that came out of a <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.miamioh.edu\/doamu\/2025\/10\/department-of-accountancy-gathers-to-advance-curriculum-teaching-culture-and-scholarship\/\">recent department retreat<\/a>, with five committees formed around educational experience, external engagement, faculty excellence, finance, and student recruitment goals. Key initiatives include developing a compelling value proposition for the MAcc and developing a strategy to incorporate AI into the curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rest of the discussion focused on updates on CPA legislation and CPA exam performance, as well as AAG members&#8217; insights into the job market for accountancy graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student Brainstorming Session<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to brainstorming with students<sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup><sup><\/sup>. Future dates announced were an AI workshop on February 27, 2026, and the AACSB re-accreditation visit on April 18\u201320, 2027.
