Accountancy students Gina Cardinale<\/a> and Isabella Hughes<\/a>, along with recent graduate Nathan Schuster<\/a> ’24, gave insights into their college lives as accounting majors at a panel discussion during the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA) Accounting Career Day<\/a>. The even<\/span>t, which was held on September 26 at\u00a0Miami University’s Voice of America Learning Center in West Chester, was attended by about 75 high school students from the surrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day started with an introduction by OSCPA President & CEO Scott Wiley<\/a>, followed by a talk by E.W. Scripps SVP & Controller Dan Perschke<\/a> ’01, who described how an accounting degree can open the door to careers in many different fields. This was followed by an accounting panel featuring representatives from accounting firms, who shared their daily experiences working as accountants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After lunch, Cardinale, Hughes, and Schuster rounded out the discussion by answering questions about their experiences transitioning from high school to college, their favorite parts of being an accounting major, and tips on succeeding in college. Schuster also shared some slides highlighting the combined B.S.\/MAcc program<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
