Our 2022 Annual Report features stories about our faculty, students, and alums. We hope you enjoy learning about the department\u2019s successes as we look back over the past year\u2019s events and accomplishments!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear friends,<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a joy to share these stories about our incredible students, our world-class faculty and staff, and our accomplished alums. Those you\u2019ll read about here are making significant marks in their personal and
professional communities, and I know all of you are, too. Please don\u2019t hesitate to reach out to me or other faculty and staff in the department to tell your stories so we can, as I like to say, evangelize about what a great profession accountancy is and how impactful Miami\u2019s program has been in your lives. In the coming months, we\u2019ll continue to share engaging stories like the ones you\u2019ll read here\u2014we want to include yours too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, I\u2019ll update you on the department\u2019s efforts to increase the pipeline of accountancy professionals; to systematically integrate and promote accountancy\u2019s critical role in stakeholder decisions about environmental, social, and governance topics throughout our courses; to advance
diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging imperatives; and to enhance the department\u2019s marketing and social media presence and our development efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But we can\u2019t do any of those things without you. I hope you\u2019ll consider saying \u2018yes\u2019 to invitations to work with and support our amazing students, faculty, and staff\u2014as I know many of you have already done many, many times\u2014or reaching out to me to reconnect with the department after some time away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To our extended \u201cfamily\u201d of alumni, business partners, and supporters of the Department of Accountancy, I cannot thank you enough for the critical role you play in our students\u2019 success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe that the school offers a world-class experience that translates into exceptional results, and we must continually monitor shifts in the job market, emerging fields, and our students\u2019 career aspirations to ensure that our curriculum and experiential learning opportunities position the school and its graduates for success. Your support has been instrumental in making this possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our undergraduate and MAcc students continue to excel\u2014in the classroom, through experiential learning, study away opportunities, during internships, and upon graduation. Our 2022 graduates are proof of the positive impact the partnership between our faculty and your organizations have in ensuring that our students continue to graduate beyond ready to succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within three months of graduation, more than 97% of our accountancy grads were employed full time, continuing their education, starting their own venture, volunteering, or serving in the military. Their average total compensation was $66,603.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I look forward to 2023, knowing that with your continued support, our students will add value to any organization they join\u2014from day one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
