The 2021 EY Scholar Abby Larson worked with professors Tim Eaton and James Zhang on an article focused on the technology of RPA (Robotic Process Automation). The manuscript titled “Building a Bot” was published in January of 2022 in Strategic Finance, the publication of the Institute of Management Accountants. This article also won a national award in June of 2022 (Lybrand Award) for contribution to accounting practice.
The 2022 EY Scholar Michael Hazel has been working with professors Tim Eaton and Jon Pyzoha on an article, “Ethics in Accounting Education: The Time Has Come!” gathering data and documenting the lack of ethics courses offered at most accounting departments across the country and articulating the need for schools to integrate an accounting ethics class in the curriculum. This manuscript is currently targeted for submission to a leading pedagogical journal.
