This grant project focused on integrating the data analytics that students learn throughout the Master of Accountancy Program with enterprise risk management and stakeholder engagement decision settings studied within the capstone course (ACC 695). As part of my grant work, I interviewed risk professionals across a wide array of companies, industries, and positions to learn about the use of data analytics within their various risk management decision settings. The grant culminated with the creation of a new relevant and challenging group project in the capstone course. Finally, the grant also spawned a formal survey intended to build upon my interview findings by gathering data from a significantly larger number of risk professionals with the intent of publishing the results in an academic journal.
