Accountancy Alum Seals Plumbing Acquisition Deal

Miami University

Miami accountancy and finance alum Aizik Zimerman ’15, who recently completed an MBA at Chicago Booth’s Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) program, became the first in this program to complete an acquisition of a business, J. Blanton Plumbing, while still enrolled as a full-time student. He recently graduated from the program and currently serves as Blanton’s CEO.

An article released by the University of Chicago details his interesting story as a first-generation college graduate from a Jewish immigrant family, what led to his decision to acquire a plumbing business, and the practical steps he took, including researching an acquisition target and raising the necessary funds. Aizik’s goal is “to build a $500 million company over 30 years,” according to the article.

Congratulations to Aizik on this new venture!
